Simex continues to demonstrate its ability to listen to customers’ specific needs and turn them into concrete solutions. A recent example comes from Wiltshire (UK), where Andy Mercer, active in the livestock sector, chose to rely on our technology to improve animal safety and welfare.
The challenge was clear: to create linear milling cuts in the concrete floors of barns and livestock areas, producing grooves that improve grip and reduce the risk of slipping. To meet this need, Simex equipped a skid steer planer with a special concrete drum, specifically designed and custom‑built for the application. This targeted technical modification delivers an immediate result: greater safety, comfort, and operational continuity within the facilities.

In addition to functional customization, the machine has been enhanced with a unique livery, perfectly coordinated with the skid. This detail not only adds aesthetic value but also makes it easily recognizable in the field, highlighting Simex’s attention to every aspect, both technical and visual.

The project was made possible thanks to the collaboration with William and Laura Forrest of The Attachment Company, who managed the sale and provided constant support to the customer throughout every stage. Their professionalism helped turn a specific request into a concrete and successful solution.
